Set in the Edo period, Kazemakase Tsukikage Ran is about a wandering
female samurai (ronin; kazemakase can be translated to mean 'carried by
the wind' or 'going where the wind blows' which is essentially the same
thing) named Tsukikage Ran, and her companion, Myao. It's a 13 episode
anime series which showed on the cable channel WOWOW in Japan starting
in January 2000. It doesn't seem to have been based on a previously
published manga; instead it's a parody of an earlier samurai show called
Su-ronin Tsukikage Hyoga.

Pinoitto Anime subbed the 1st ep, but has since dropped doing anymore.
It has been released in Japan on 5 DVD's(1-3-3-3-3) and would explain
why only the 1st episode has been done so far. Currently, 2 sub groups
have looked into doing the series for the FS community and they are AUS
and Chiaki. Chiaki seems to be the most serious and has even started
accepting Sponsors for the future releases, including the 1st
Volume(Sponsorship closed). They own the DVD's and are just looking for
people to sponsor them. I may sponsor Vol. 2 myself. Their website is
http://welcome.to/chiaki/ and you can find KTR under "Subtitling
Projects" and that even has a link to some more info about the series.

If you go to the KTR info link that is
http://www.wisteriafairy.com/kaze/ you can even join a ML for the
series. Well, I have found all I can for now.
