A few days back I made a relatively uninformed response to the
following post. This followup covers a couple of points I was unclear about
at the time.

Well, at this point in time I have been able to see the illustration
in question, as it appears on Ryan Anderson's web site, and sure enough, it
is the same illustration I have described above. About all I can add to the
above point is that I was told the illustration first appeared in NewType
some time after the TV series had finished its run; I can't confirm this
assertion myself, but the usage of it in a publication specifically devoted
to the TV series is a big point in its favor. Does this mean that no one
else on this list has the NewType 100% Collection volumes covering the TV
series? I really didn't think I'd be the first person to point this out.

Nagi, the >bounty hunter from the TV series, in attendance. Also, Ken-ohki
is in the group shot as >well.

This point hasn't been cleared up, though. If this is the
accompanying illustration, and the same one that appears in the NewType
collection, then I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion it was Minagi
in the shot. Outside of the fact that the manga isn't likely to be covered
in color illustrations by anyone besides Hitoshi Okuda, there isn't much of
a resemblance between Nagi and Minagi outside of the 'battle make-up' on
their faces. And then there's Ryo-ohki's little playmate licking her face in
there as well.

Lastly, I should note that the NewType collection presents these
illustrations with a monologue (in Japanese, natch) which I assumed was from
Ryoko. My reading of it was that of either a wedding vow or a frank
confession of love, but my Japanese isn't all that hot and I didn't try a
careful reading in the first place. The same volume includes another
monologue from Ryouko, presumably just before the conclusion of episode 24
that seems to make everyone who watches it really sad.
