What, to buy a used defunct version of one?

They already have simple working models.  I admit it
doesn't look too promising, yet.  But the period of
time between copper technology and actual copper
processors was about 2-4 years (depending upon which
stage of research you start with).
If you're looking for 50 years, expect 3-dimensional
processor nets.  And that might even be old tech by then.
