I don't have web access at home, so I can't be 100% certain, but by
your description I'd say the video used the characters from: "Nadesico: 
Prince of Darkness", which is the first nadesico movie. The movie takes
place five years after the series ends, which is why Ruri-chan looks
older, and the movie uses new characters to replace those no longer with
the crew. I'll check the link you included and get back to you with a
definate answer.
