While spending too much time worrying about how they plan on hacki... I
mean, editing, the different series (including the rumor that they want to
make it all one big [and confusing] story), I had a thought. Since they've
already stated they're using quite a bit of digital editing rather than cut
and snip, what kind of a timeslot are they planning on? The OAV's running
last, right? (Why? Why must it run out of sequence, and why must people in
high places be idiots?) So, with only a little fidgeting of material here
and there, that could run an hour, innit? Not likely, but possible. My
assumption about the OAV is that it has to have more editing than anything
else (tho' the dub really wasn't that bad, y'know compared to the subbed and
all), so they don't want to worry about falling back, as has been the problem
with Sailor Moon (on a sidenote, I'd like to say that could be ve-e-e-ry
interesting, or just fall flat on its arse if they do something weird and
inexplicible to explain such simple bloody things. Hm, maybe if we used the
Venus Love Me Chain on CN's head suits we could trip them into loving [or
more] Tenchi Muyo, and then get the series shown right!). I still think they
should show something serious and un-fantasy in their anime staple by now,
just to finally shut up the morons who keep insisting anime is children's
fare or just goofy mecha. Oh, and CN's run gags about balls already (and
sausages, uh, actually they've done balls and sausages), so that line
shouldn't be a problem. If, when watching it though, Ryoko doesn't say
"damn," all the time, I'll just have to shout it myself in synch with
whatever they cover it with. Main problem, Washu's dialogue, Crom save us,
some her stuff is either outrightly perverse or so sly some of the censors
may not even notice. Her better routines will probably go byebye, an' tha's
just sad.
