Ok then wiseguy, if Tsunami is this "Key Intersection"
of the Four Sovereigns, what do the Jurai mean when
they say the name "Tsunami." Obviously something that
we're not grasping.

I don't think the Jurai themselves quite grasp it,
either. But they clearly depict Tsunami as their main
deity. Even though she isn't. Remember what I said
about my hpothetical "Precursors", in that Washu and
Tsunami have ascended into the roles of Heaven and
Earth, but that they are not the ones who created the
world themselves. Rather they are subordinate to an
even greater, mysterious power, that just happens to
be there mother and creator as well.

But I'll make a few generalisations:

1. Tsunami is a tree, but not really a tree in the
literal sense. Despite Kagato's planter in OAV 7,
Tsunami is not an objective tree, which means it
exists quintessentially, dispersed throughout the
universe itself.

2. Tsunami, like the Jurai themselves, provided the
"Fifth" that cultivated this tree in the first place,
but she did not create it herself. All she provides
is balancing of the Four Sovereigns to allow for the
manifestation of LHW energy in the first place. She is
not the direct source of that power, just an
"intervention" by which it comes to exist.

3. Goddess and Tree have grown together so much that
they are inseperable, as is the case with lower-gen
trees and their bondmates. Only Sasami's accidental
addition to the First Tree enables it to be solid,
modifying the relationship substantially (excuse the
pun).

4. The Jurai have no other concept of how to create
this energy other than Tsunami (live by the sword, die
by the sword....) which underscores their
vulnerability, and is the major reason that only
Tsunami is allowed the bond with the First Tree, since
she acts as an honest broker outside the vicious
infighting of the various Royal Families.

Which of course, makes the existence of the other
three girls, and Tenchi as well, a serious problem for
the Jurai Royals, because it contradicts what they
took for granted.
