So a normal tree, one that grows in soil and water
alone, takes on the characteristics dictated by the
trophic (energy) characteristics of its location,
climate and chemistry.

But Jurai Trees are not rooted in soil. They are
rooted in pure Quintessence. By the symbology of
tree, as it is understood in the Orient, the Jurai
Trees contain the mysterious middle, through the
perfect balancing of the other four forces. And of
course, through balancing of Heaven, Earth, Sun and
Moon, one attains clarity, which is the light of a
Light Hawk Wing!

However, there is one caveat to this. The trees are
worthless without their human bondmates. Remember
what I said earlier about the redemptive position of
Humanity: It always is in the middle, whether between
three or five, and is at the mercy of all energies at
once. While the four forces are what give a tree its
sustenance, its nature is determined by the Fifth,
which is always humanity. The strength of a tree is
dependent upon the clarity of soul within its
bondmate. The more muddled the person, the weaker the
tree, and the stronger the person, the stronger the
tree.
Therefore the bonding of a tree and a person is
actually a symbiotic relationship that benefits the
health of both.

Of course, if a Jurai tree is ever rooted, it will
return to being a normal tree, as its nature is in
preference for its nature rather than pure
quintessence.

The tree's generation is created by its relative
position to Tsunami herself: Tsunami is at dead
center: the Main Intersection of Quintessential, Tao,
or Chi energy within the Jurai sphere, and all other
trees line up along those lines of intersection,
receding in power as they get further away from
Tsunami. First there was Tsunami, and then a first
generation of trees appeared in a circle around her,
then a second gen further out, followed by a third,
and so on.

This also explains the LHW manifestation of each tree,
and the "charging" described by Funaho in OAV 13: All
energy radiates from Tsunami (the tree, not the
goddess) along the four axis, and the first three
generations are close enough to her that they manifest
three LHWs, while lesser generations do not.

There is a lot more going on here than I can cover in
just one small mailing.
