I had the same problem where I am (Poughkeepsie, NY); I now pre-order all my
DVDs from dvdexpress and have them delivered on the day of release. The
best part of their service is I can pre-order months in advance. They have
a pretty good return policy, too. One of my discs was defective and all I
had to do was fill out a short questionnaire that came on the invoice, affix
the self -stick return label to the box, mail it all back and receive a new
disc a few days later, no questions asked.
