i dont think it was mass producing the gems so much as being able to mass produce

Jurai wants to be able to make really strong ships very quickly.   Washuu says she
won't help
anyone.    later she says "And there is no daughter other than Ryouko,"  implying
that there are
no other gems.   (finally got that...)
that sound reasonable?

i've be disecting that scene for months..  finally got it all.  ^_^
