I was just browsing the net when I came across this posting of an e-mail:

I'd like you to forward a message to as many web ring members as
you can. If you have a mailing list for them then it should be
easy. We are finding a lot of illegal image files on the net lately
that have been stolen from our Tenchi Muyou Gokuraku CDROM set.

It is illegal to use these images on websites or to make them
publically available. Also, many people are ignoring our requests
for them to add links to AIC/Pioneer when they are using our images.
If we are going to be able to allow fans to use these images they
have to work within the rules we provide them on our website:
http://www.anime-int.com/company/linking.html

If we continue to have problems we may just have to revoke all image
use and take people to court for international copyright abuse. We'd
rather it didn't come to that since we would like to encourage our fans.
But if they continue to hurt us by ignoring us, we will have no other
choice but to protect our copyrights.

This e-mail was sent to the webring master/mistress of The Anime Ring
(yeah, the one with like 600 members). I tried visiting the link provided
in the e-mail but unfortunately it was broken. It seemed like they were
trying a tactic similar to Gainax's but I guess it didn't catch on.
