Alrighty,
-sama can mean dear or lord. Eg.: Tenchi-sama = tenchi dear, or lord
tenchi. Girls will often attach -sama to the end of their crush's name.
-chan is mostly used on females & pets, it signifies a certain affinity or
friendliness to addressing a person. Eg.: Miako-chan= Miako baby, hey Miako,
etc...
-kun is more of a form of chan used on males. Eg.: Shinji-kun; Shinji-
babe.. etc..
