I haven't seen the movie, but about the OAV..
I'm really sure he did. He just never let his secret known to Aeka. He 
told her the reason when Kagato revealed his secret in OAV #5. Aeka 
herself seems to see the similarities between him and his Youshou-onisan 
when she first met him, although she thought that Youshou's dead at that 
time.

Annoying as she can be (I don't think she's annoying, she is an
