lol...  before you read this keep in mind I am without a spell check.

I know you haven't heard from this ghost from the past for a while.  
But I just had to say I don't think this ML is dying yet.  
The end of all things starts in the beggining...
and all good things must end but this isn't the end of it and probably far
from it.  

"All of the universe can be broken down into moments of either Transition or
Revelation...  this had the feel of both"-?  

Now I believe is the time of transition for the ML.
It's the time waiting on the next generation to happen.
The time when old voices go to their virtual graves or become older and new
voices will rise up in their absence.  In some time there will be the new
beggining...  the genesis of the ML as the next generation takes over.
The ML isn't dead.  It's changing.    

The ML is alive in it's people.  When the older ones go there is a silence...
a sadness... a slight weakening in the flow of things.  Especially when the
loses are as great as they where not to long ago.  We are left with a sudden
impact that others have left behind...  untill a bunch of new people come.
When enough of the new minds get here the flow will start fresh again.
Something Ryoko said says it best...  "The carnival comes and goes. If you
wait the carnival will always come back to you.  If you wait for a while it
will always come back to you."  
Think about it.

As for myself I've faded away because of personal reasons as of late but I'm
not going anywhere.  I don't know about the rest of you but I like it here. I
happen to think of this ML as extended family (although I like the extended
one more then the real one).  If I go it won't be by my own will.  William is
one old nightmare that won't leave.  He doesn't like to die easily.  Sooner or
later he'll kick back from his faded condition and return in full force.

William had to have had some words of wisdom somewhere in this.  So he'll go
back to being a shadow for now.  All that I can say now is wait and see.
