finally got the MNE LD.

from my previous post, i'm not happy about MNE in general.  but now it's
time to point things out on the LD.

general info on the LD.

CLV, 60 mins, widescreen 1.85:1, I believe this LD is pressed at Pioneers
Carson facility.  2 sides.  Side #1 has 26 chapters.. it's just over 1
hour.  Side #2 is not listed on the LD cover, but it has 1 chapter, the
Japanese Promo and the Theatrical trailer.

now my gripes

1)  The LD is CLV.  MNE is 60 minutes, they could have done a 2 sided CAV
instead.. but i guess they went cheap on mastering costs.  Perhaps they
couldn't make it fit?  they could have trimmed off the theatrical trailer
or a little off the FBI warning and Kadokawa logo.

2)  Flimsy LD cover.  The cardboard is could have been better quality.

3)  The says it's CLV, in small letters.. it's bolded but still very small.
very hard to spot.  It's part of the fine print.

4)  Perhaps this is a matter of taste, but the cover doesn't have same
appeal of the Japanese release cover.  the cover of the Japanese release
seems more classy, more stylish.  MNE(US) seems more childish.. looks like
ti woudl appeal toa  younger audience.

the animation was great(very detailed backgrounds), the transfer was
great...I don't have too many good things to say, I was anxious for days to
get this release but I just wasn't impressed with the movie or hte qualtiy
of the packaging.

However, the LD only cost $23.98.  Dirt cheap for an LD.  I'll try to get a
high quality scan in the next too weeks.
