When Kain says "None of the others were the same".  I take it he killed some
powerfull or somewhat powerfull beings on his way there.

My opinion is that the sword draws on the users inner strength or energy.
But I don't believe the fact that Tenchi got his ass kicked before he changed
into his battle suit mattered though.  I think that enough for a guy is
different then enough for a girl.  What I am trying to say is that Tenchi just
did it when he had enough and his version of enough is different then
Achika's.  I know I wouldn't have had enough unless I got my ass kicked.

I still think Ryoko has no competition from that merger.  
The other girls might though.
