Hmm. You seem to be doing your hardest to spread FUD about DVDs.

Sorry to disappoint you, but DVD mods are available, as well as fully
modded DVD players: http://www.home-cinema.com/dvdplayer.htm,
http://www.madman.com.au/dvd/, http://www.ozemail.com.au/~laservis/

Home-cinema attended the CES, presumably to find american dealers. So you
may soon be able to buy modded DVD players in the US.

The sony 7000 mod is trivial, just add a switch and a single resistor.
($1.50 in total) Presto! Fully region selectable player. A *lot* simpler
than *any* playstation mod.

If you have a PC, the Creative Labs DVD kit (Dxr2 encore kit) is an
excellent choice. Not only is it super cheap ($321), but you can override
the region code in software easily, and the drive also does double duty as
a CD rom. (If anyone has this drive, I can email you the software mod.
Just ask.)
