( * NOTE *) This will soon become a web page, as I take
my Tenchi news and Rumors page and spread it to all Anime,
in this, edition 0, number 1 (read, collectors edition), I have
news on alot of Tenchi, the AMG! movie, Nandisco, and a
few other nick nacks...).

(* NOTE * Allmost all of these are rumours, beyond the fact
that Kajishima has asked to work on Tenchi, now that Photon
is done, the rest are from two people I e-mail back and forth
on, in Japan).

It seems that the number one request for a new movie is "More Achika."

So it is very likley this movie is a prequel to Tenchi.

This suits Kajishima just fine, according to this source, Kajishima
and Hasegawa styles don't get along. Kajishima asked someone else to write
the second OVA series (not her, Kimura I believe), she extracted revenge,
by taking
the origional name of Tenchi's mom, and giving it to a character
_she_ invented. The origional name of Tenchi's mom? Kiyonne.

According to one of the two people I e-mailed, they actually asked
Kimura (I believe) to write the movie, but he declined, because it
was Kajishima's story, and Kajishima gave him his "break" by letting
him write the second OVA series.

(True Tenchi Trivia ;-)

Apparantly, Kajishima has decided to throw away the novels, and
the new movie may be a prequel to the OVA series, delving into
the death of Achika.

Weither or not Mayuka will be peremenent is unknown.
It's probibly a fair bet Kiyonne won't be.

The other rumour is that AIC is really going overboard
with the "Dark Tenchi mood" that appears to a minimal degree
in Shin Tenchi, and too a much greater degree in Manatsu no Eve,
the view is that Photon will be taking the place of the
"wacky space comedy" series from Pioneer, and the new "flagship
series) freeing up Tenchi to experement.

One way or another, Kajishima is back at the helm.

(I just want to see Photon....)

No decision has been made about weither the next Tenchi
will be and OVA series, or a TV series, but given the
success of Manatsu, and the lack therof of Shin Tenchi, it
will be OVA.

( * My View *)
The El-Hazard Late night series starts to air in Jan. If
it does well, expect BGC to take over it's spot
this summer (if Hayashi can get anyone to work on it, word
is that he is woefully understaffed), and then Tenchi, or
a TV continuation of the upcoming Sol Bianca OVA's to take it's
place in the timeslot. Expect a Photon or a Battle Athletes or
*gag* Pretty Sammy 2 (Which did well ,rating wise) TV slot for
the 6:30 friday slot Shin Tenchi, and now Vampire Miyu have.

_IF_ El-Hazard does well, expect Tenchi to follow suit.
El-Hazard has really matured as a story, so that it dosent
really come close to being a Tenchi clone anymore, and is
quite a good story in and of itself.

Likewise, while Manatsu did well, I doubt it will
touch "Tenchi Muyo in Love", which is about the only
thing that challanged EVA in LD sales last year. I
wouldent be suprised either to see a low marketing budget,
or an extremly high on for this upcoming Tenchi. Given the
*bleck*ness of Shin Tenchi, I would point at probibly a
low budget release (not neccesarily Animation style).

( End of My veiw).

Allright, the next word is that there will be 5 total
"True Tenchi" Novels, each of which caring a part of
the backstory. These have been oficially blessed by Kajishima,
and my guess is that he will be controling the storyline tighter
then JMS does for Babylon 5.

This is going to make the novel stuff fun, I think we can
safely assume that the novelizations of the OVA series are
cannon, the 101, and the Souran, and the "True Tenchi" books.

BTW, anyone catch what Megumi Hayashabara(sp?) is working on now?
NUKU-NUKU TV! She says they have the first episode recorded, but
no announcement has been made for Jan, I assume we will see it this
summer.

In the worst case secret catagory, the AMG movie was finnaly
confirmed. No clue what studio is doing it yet, but probibly
_not_ AIC. Probibly the same animation team that has been
doing YUA TV.

A Nandisco and a Escaflowne movie are both in the works. The
Escaflowne movie is supposed to be ala Macross: DYRL, that is
26 1/2 hour episodes shoved into two and 1/2 hours. Bright side?
It will be animated from the ground up. As if the Animation
in the TV series could be improved in the first place.

One again, Slayers ended, and no sign of Luna. Rumours
are allready abounding on a fourth Slayers series. One
poster in the SlayersML, suggested "Slayers Forever"
tounge in cheek for a title.

I dunno, I think it has a nice ring to it.

Life is good.
