        As far as genetic incompatibility goes, nothing I've seen in Tenchi
suggested any of the humanoid races were genetically incompatible, although
it would only make good sense to assume so.  But sci-fi/fantasy is
_notorious_ for ignoring that fact.  So Washuu could have come from an
ancient race of frogs that grew hair and her husband from Jurai, and Washuu
probably could still have a kid by normal means in Tenchi-verse.

        I don't know if he is Juraian either.  All that was said about him
was that he came from a powerful family, which could include Jurai but is by
no means exclusive to Jurai.  In fact, Jurai appears to be something of an
isolationist (prohibition against the Galaxy Police) and their technology
appears to be different (tree-based with wood motif) than the rest of the
galaxy.  So I would think it unlikely, but not impossible, that a high-born
Jurian will attend the Space Academy (or whatever it's called).  I would bet
on her husband _not_ being a Juraian.
