Hmmm...My own curly locks stand out quite substantially from my head.
Before middle age thinned me out, if I let it grow it could have extravagant
body and shape, could even have imitated the Washu/Ryoko style(
ahh...remember the 60's?).  However, they both use ties and fobs to train
their style, and their cut is the same.  You are probably right about the
texture and body.
