Well I just moved to chicago and came upon the wonder that is Yohan plaza.
Not only do they have the newest manga but all of the new series. So I've
made copies of Shin Tenchi eps 1-8 (in my next post I'll tell  you how to
get copies) So far the series is shapping up great. It started out a little
shaky but now it's gaining some speed. Eps. 7-8 were the best so far (well
the sasami date was pretty good :) ). Here's some interesting things I
haven't seen mentioned anywhere else:
1)Sasami owns Ryo-Ohki from the begining she has her on the ship with her.
Ryoko does not figure in here.
2)Washu and Ryoko have...um...intersesting choices in costumes. I sorta
like Washu's :)
3)Washu and Ryoko have stolen something from Jurai a green rod shaped like
-o- Aeka is not pleased and chases after them.
4)Sasami calls in the Galaxy Police, Aeka is NOT pleased (she wanted to
take out Ryoko herself :)
5) Ryoko has 2 gem earings (not sure if it's important or not)
6)Washu and Ryoko pilot the red ship from the opening
7)After they all crash Aeka and Ryoko fight. The two logs make short work
of Ryoko until she takes the -o- thing and inserts it into her forhead.
Ryoko turns into a horrible monster that makes short work of the logs and
batters through Aeka's shield in one blow.
8)Tenchi jumps in and his pendent (a lot of crystals tied together) turns
into a funky sword (kinda cool looking) The sword draws the -o- out of
Ryoko and absorbs it(not sure about whether it really was absorbed). Ryoko
falls into a coma.
9)Sakuya follows Tenchi to his home and shows up at the begining of ep. 8
the girls are NOT pleased :)
10)Ep. 8 has some GREAT Ryoko moments all you Ryoko lovers :) It rivals the OAV
11)Ryoko is in a coma, Aeka is all banged up and Ryo-ohki is covered in
bandages.
12)Tenchi nurses Aeka to health and she falls for him, he also nurses all
of the other girls back to health and they sort of fall for him (in various
degrees.)
13)Ryoko is in the coma in a status field created by Washu. She doesn't
look good
14)Tenchi begins to watch over Ryoko, and cares for her.
15)Ryoko wakes up and witnesses Tenchi crying over her. Falls for him
16)Flash forward to Ryoko and Tenchi talking at the riverside. The pendent
drops and breaks. Ryoko takes a piece and so do all of the girls.
17)Yugi makes a monkey demon which steals all of the crystal pieces.
18)Ryoko and all of the girls (well most of them)accuse Sakuya of stealing
the crystal (Sakuya contrary to previous report does NOT have a shard)
throws Sakuya across the room and is about to punch her out when tenchi
steps in front of her and grabs/carresses her face with both his hands
(note he did this when she woke up from the coma). He tells her to stop.
It's a VERY powerful scene. Very nice for Ryoko lovers. Ryoko flys off
crying. Lands by the lake where she got the crystal and crys.
19)Washu creates a machine to find the crystal. It points at Ryo-Ohki who
freaks out. Then we see the monkey behind Ryo-Ohki. Aeka pulls out a
ligtsaber (not a ryoko light sword a real light saber even hums. at the
begining of ep. 7 Mihoshi gets a hold of it :) :)  and smites the demon
through the ceiling. The gang runs off.
20)Leaving Sakuya behind crying on the floor (they all forget about her).
21)The demon flys tward Ryoko who destroys it. They all take their shards
back.
22)Sakuya sees them coming back to the house. Makes some sort of decision
and leaves through the back door.
End

Well I must say this was some of the best Tenchi I have ever seen. What a
great episode. Sakuya is a wonderful character. I really feel for her. And
Ryoko now has redeemed herself in my eyes (the series really had me
disliking her for awile).
I also managed to pick up the Shin Tenchi soundtrack. It's pretty great a
couple of dramas and a short and long version of the op. and ending. It
also has a interview I can't read.
I'll be setting up a shin tenchi web site withen the next couple of days.
It'll have scans from all of the episodes. A quicktime of the ending song
and scans of the new newtype and the pictures and interviews from the new
cd. I have a scanner and a video input card. It'll be up soon.
