In the first CD, which has a lot of minidramas, Ryouko and Aeka fight when
they both come to Tenchi's room in the middle of the night.  Aeka couldn't
possibly have a battlesuit on at that point, yet she does shields and blasts
with no problem.

While it's doubtful that CD minidramas are completely in continuity, this
one is certainly suggestive.
