Yep, some of the Suncoasts won't let you buy Tenchi Muyo! unless
you're 18. I just don't know why it varies so much. One store will let you
buy it, the next one won't. These Suncoasts are in the same state, yet they
have different policies. The main reason must be: <once again> not knowing
what they're selling <well, what do you expect? They're a chain store>.
And of course it is a value judgement.

Lots of anime IS for kids. Most kids would probably not understand
everything in Tenchi, but I bet they'd like Ryo-ohki! It's a cultural
judgement about nudity, and with American cultural values starting to
deteriorate, I think it will be allowed more. Some US television shows
would be much worse (and less interesting) for kids, like those that show
people making love (but are allowed because they lack nudity ex. Savannah,
Sunset Beach); compared to Tenchi Muyo (which has a bit of nudity but no
sensual love scenes). I think Tenchi Muyo would be more appropriate.
Americans jump at the word nudity, but don't seem to mind those sexy tv shows.

Oh,the survey. I'm your typical college student-18
American (well, I am Japanese American, but my ancestors came a long time
ago, so I consider myself as American as anyone can be)

Why must there be Anime? Because Disney has decayed under the money
grubbing hands of the dreaded Michael Ei$ner.

I admit it, I am a disgruntled Disney fan <not post office worker>, and have
turned to Anime for salvation.

                Chad!
