ADV did get better over time, but I made a point never to watch their dubs.  I didn't
know that they actually changed things so much that plotlines changed in the dubbed
versions, but the simple fact that they were "spicing" the dubs up with
additional profanity was a good enough reason for me to stick with the subtitles.
I think I did a comparison once between the sub and dub of a couple of episodes of
RahXephon, but that was pretty much the most I did with their dubs.

Bandai Entertainment's still around and doing releases, although they've always been
somewhat more restrained in their release schedules - aside from all things Gundam,
of course.  Off the top of my head, I can't think of any real complaints that I've

had with their work aside from some of the early VHS era stuff.  They apparently released
the Gundam Zeta compilation movies in the US last month.  Time to figure out whether
to get those and set them next to my TV series DVDs.


Also, elements of ADV still exist, albeit under different names.  ADV spun off groups
like Sentai Filmworks for various reasons (iirc the latter was originally supposed
to handle ANN broadcasts) before the main company went under, and the spin offs
are still around and picking up parts of the DVD market.  I was somewhat surprised
the other day to learn that Appleseed is now a Sentai release - though that makes
a certain amount of sense since Geneon was the original US licensee.
