=0A> Do you have the latest=0A> CCCP codecs w/ the latest MPC player?=A0 Co
uld be a video=0A> card issue as=0A> well.=0A=0AWell, since I don't have a
windows machine, right now, CCCP (and everybody's other suggestions), don't
work. However, one person who brings their "electric green" super-tower e
very once in a while to the anime club, has many problems with the .mkv's I
've brought... including the karaoke that causes the "hex-dump" problem. H
e does have the CCCP codec-pack, but I have no idea if he has any other cod
ecs loaded, other than CORE-AVC.=0A=0A> I don't have any problems playing m
ost MKV's.=A0 Some=0A> of these HD rips are insanely large and those I can'
t play=0A> on even my best=0A> machine as they go out of synch, skip, etc.
=A0 I just use=0A> them for=0A> images though and not to watch.=0A=0AYeah,
since I do a lot of my own rips, and conversions from my DVR, I'm pretty go
od now with coding, and I'm surprised about all the horrid encodes.=0ABrief
ly, under Xvid, 640x480 should be about 7MB/min=0A720x400 - 6.33MB/Min=0A64
0x480 H.264 - 4.66MB/min.=0A720x400 - 4MB/Min=0A=0AThis is a rough estimate
, since things like rain and snow effects greatly increase the size, and bl
urriness and low "cel" rates severely lower the size. But most "encoders"
for anime no longer seem to be able to follow this. And since I can do thi
s, and typically encode things in faster than real time, there is absolutel
y no reason for others to not be able to do it... unless they are idiots, o
r, by my guess, found a new "super-easy-to-use for dummies matroska encoder
 and packager."=0A=0A=0A
