That trick didn't work for me, unfortunately (I upgraded my system right before AoC
came out).  I also noted that the runner-up in one of the caption contests that they
hold had a caption that was exactly the same as what I'd submitted...  except for

the name used. 

meh...

And the newsletter quit showing up in my e-mail box several months ago, which suggests
that once again my e-mail addresses have marked something I want as spam and disposed
of it before it even reached my spam box.  They seem to do that with
surprising regularity...

The difference between AoC at around the high 40s and FFXI is that FFXI knows that
you sometimes like to do things other than mass murder lots and lots and lots of mobs...
The game has some neat features, but as a whole it needs some help.  And a lot
of the features are still "broken".  Hence the beta comment.

Blizzard was actually pretty lax with their NDA, iirc, and didn't mind at all having
people talk about what was going on with WoW.

I suppose I'll just have to wait for the open beta.  I've pre-ordered, so I'm already
got a slot in that.
