We might find out something by the first of next year (Comiket) if 
Kajishima is going to explore Z, but it doesn't seem likely.  Z will be, 
after all, just a normal person and the fleet battle will probably never 
have to happen.

It doesn't seem so, at least if Kajishima keeps following the Japanese 
Kojiki.  First was Tenchi (heaven and earth), then came the three 'hidden' 
gods in heaven as well as two other gods.  Also, Tokimi was the one causing 
anomalies, the other two members of the Choushin were acting fairly low 
level.  I'm not sure.  We might get more information in the OVA 3 Special.  
Kajishima might also release some information in more doujinshi this year.
