I hate to say it, but none of those reasons are particularly convincing.  Even if
all
those reasons were true, if Funaho can't go anywhere, then why not give it to Tenchi?
To
say that Funaho "isn't just an object to be traded" is based on the assumption that

someone feels as if passing Funaho to Tenchi puts Funaho on the level of an "object"
and
that is a questionable assumption.
The 3rd reason also begs the question of why would there be a compelling reason not
to
give Funaho to Tenchi.

The counterpoint to that is - why give Funaho to Tenchi?  There's no particular reason
to do so.  The key is an actual weapon, and was therefore a potent symbol to Tenchi.
It would provide him with a way to protect the ladies.  There's no reason to
give Funaho to him. 

I would say that the single biggest reason to suggest that Funaho wasn't given to
Tenchi is that Yosho is still maintaining his disguise.  Its probable that if Funaho
had been given to Tenchi, then Yosho would have difficulty maintaining his disguise

- or at least in being able to drop it at a moments notice and put it back in place.
The fact that he can do so suggests that he still maintains his link with Funaho.
