Has it been fansubbed, or are you going by a translation? Mainly asking as
I
don't recall seeing any mention of a fansub here on the mailing list.
Just curious.

Yes, it has been fansubbed. I just discovered that over the weekend.

A friend of RadHaz over in Nihon, brought episode 15 and heard Tennyo call
Nobuyuki father. He sepulated that Nobuyuki was Tennyo's biological father
and thus came the two-hundred-year-old bit. From my own knowledge of
Nihonjin, otousan and otousama can be used to show acknowledgement of an
step-father or an non-biological father. Since Nobuyuki did marry Kiyone,
Tennyo would be his step-daughter but a lot of times this distintion is
overlooked in Nihonjin. So it wouldn't be unusal for Tennyo to call
Nobuyuki, father.

Tennyo does call him "father' -- she also calls him a "nuisance" (which gets
a reaction from the household). According to a really fine TM! family tree
at http://tmau.fateback.com/articles/family_tree.html, Tennyo is definitely
Nob's biological daughter.

First, why would that be speculation? is there any reason to assume
that Nobuyuki is *not* her biological father? Second, if he is, it does
not require him to be older than about one hundred years.

I just remember reading his age somewhere, and thought it was on this list.
Perhaps it will be explained as more details about the up-coming nuptials
with Reina are expounded upon; Tenchi asks Airi near the end of the ep if
there is more news to come, and her reply was something like, "Yes, but all
in due time."
I thought the most disappointing moment of that ep (without giving more info
away for those who haven't seen it yet), is when Ayeka asks Airi about her
background vis-a-vis Yosho. I thought Airi's reply was too friggin'
evasive, frankly (gee, wasn't Ayeka supposed to *marry* the same guy....?).
I was hoping for something a little more meaty. (Yes, I wrote my own
version of the inquiry, but I wanted to see how the producers dealt with
it.)
And as I said before, the most irritating aspect was watching Ryoko getting
soundly pummeled. Zero turned her into a pansy...
