That was why romanization systems were developed, to take the spoken 
word and make writen words using the oral roman way of doing it to 
represent those words in ways we can understand. The fact is that 
'Ayeka' is nothing short of simply changing the name itself.

No. There is a proper way to pronounce something in any language (or 
a range of understandibility). When it comes to names, there is a 
very certain way to pronounce it, and it should not be changed. 
'Ayeka' represents a bold-faced alteration of her name, and that's 
not tolarable. It would be different if you just had trouble 
pronouncing 'Aeka' (which you really shouldn't--you can even say 
Tsunami right with a little practice :)), but take her name and 
change it to something that it's not is just intolerable. 
 
'Aeka' is the proper romanization of the name, because it gives an 
accurate description of the sounds which have to be used to say it.
