Heyz everybody.
I was there on Sat at Winnetka Fun zone for the SVC Chaos beta testing. (Was
the one with the Witch Hunter Robin Shirt).
Everyone that attended received a nifty Chaos poster and the first 50 people
in line also got a cool SNK pop up pen.
For the first 50 bouts people had to obtain a ticket with a number on it.
Once your number was up you were then allowed to go and play. The first 50
motches only allowed each player one game, and then both players would have
to leave.
This was a major probnlem however, because the winner of the match might be
using a character the next player might not be so familiar with so one person
would be stuck with the character from the last around.
After that, when less people were around, if you wanted to play, all you have
to do is line up from the machine. Winners would be allowed to paly 3 matches
before he'd have to give up his or her game. 2/3 hours later though, the
employees would start resetting the machine everytime a winning player leaves
so people may be able to choose their characters again.
I played around matches, all of whom were with. . .Shiki!
Here are my impressions of her.
She is a very good character, and I quickly took a liking to her. There is
without a doubt, that Shiki will be my main character in Chaos.
Idle stance - she takes in a deep breath, arching her back inwards while
putting her head back at the same time. Best idle stance in the game.
Strong Punch - Does two hits. I think you can only combo into a special or
super if you do it right after the first hit though.
croucking wp - joes some nice fast stabs with her swords
Crouching SP - Trips the opponent with her swords.
Crouching WK - does an upward slash, nice for a quick anti air.
Crounching SK - does an upward kick, nice for an anti air. Does not trip.
Foward + SP - Shiki pauses and does a staight stab outward. This move does
more damage than any of her other regular moves. It's similar to the last
blades strong slashes (requiring a fowrd + slash).
Throw # 1 (WP + SP) a multi hitting throw. Does about seven hits.
Specials:
Dew Flash: Down, Down-Foward, Foward + Punch - Shiki dashes at the opponent
and does a slash at their feet. You can also follow though with another Down,
Down-foward, foward + punch to finish it up with an uppercut.
Heavenly Halo Blast - Foward, Down, Down-foward + punch. This anti air has
Shiki spinning straight into the air. It goes almost straight up with little
foward movement.
Teleport - Down, Down + any attack button. A quick teleport maneuver. I did
this move on accident many times.
Super:
Heaven & Hades Wave - Down, Down-back, Back, Down-back, Down, Down-foward,
foward + punch.
This super has shki rushing foward just like the Dew flash, and if she
conencts, she'll go into a combo that sends the opponent straight into the
air. When the opponent falls she'll finish it with a Heavenly Halo Blast.
Exceed:
Life - Down, Down-back, Back, Down-back, Down, Down-foward, foward + Both
Kicks.
This is probably one of the best exceeds in the game. Why? BEcause you drain
the opponents life bar and add about half - 3/4 of a life bar to your own!
Shiki rushes to her opponent jsut like the Dew Flash and if she connects, she
gets up on the opponent with her legs around their neck and brings them
straight ot the ground. She then gets on top of the opponent (like Hotaru
Futaba) and drain thems. This part looks exactly like Hotaru's life draining
super in Garou.
I was winning through my first 5 games. Then I came back and lost. Then I
came back later and won again, then loss then I left.
I lost against, Mr. Karate, Kim, and Choi btw.
