Most of my vinyl(~200 records) is from the early '70s through the '80s.
For instance, the next record is going to be "Let Them Eat Jellybeans", a
major punk rant of the era. A Google search turns up takusan hits.

Funny how many people like that stuff.
Many of my records are unusable for digitizing, and should be replaced
with CDs, when available, but I will have to judge how "listenable" they
are. Anyway, it's kinda fun doing this technological exersize.
A really well made record with a good turntable and cartridge is
amazingly good sounding, even today. I used a Techinics SL-1300 semi-auto
turntable, and a Shure M97 cart. I bought these a LONG time ago, '70s,
'80s. The phono pre-amp on my Denon AVR-2600 is pretty good! No noise
that I could hear.
Anyway, I thought I'd archive this stuff before the fungus got to them. (^^;;

If you got bad hiss and pop in your records you can clean them..........very
carefully!!!!!! There are plugins in CoolEdit 2000 that get rid of the hiss
and pop in recordings from vinyl and audio cassettes. CoolEdit 2000 is a
professional level audio file editor that has the "professional commerical
grade" Fraunhaufer MP3 encoder codec and not the stripped down "consumer
version" you get in Windows.
CoolEdit 2000 can also directly edit MP3 files without having to turn them
into .WAV files first! Once cleaned up you can then use a program like Nero
to burn them to CD. Nero is much better than Easy CD Creator at doing this
based on extensive experience personal at making auido CDs.
