Got down to Long Beach today, and went through
registration; it's basically in the same place
it was last year. Good news: the event maps
and schedules are actually useable this time.
Of course, that's because they're basically
identical to what's on the web, albeit printed
on nice paper. This also means the schedule
print may be a little hard to read for some
folks (small type), though not nearly as bad
as it was last year.
No sign of the American Newtype; perhaps that'll
be available in the exhibit hall? The registration
bag of goodies did include issue 0 of Raijin
comics, featuring:
* City Hunter
* Fist of the Blue Sky (a Hokuto no Ken prequel)
* Baki the Grappler
* Guardian Angel
Looks like the Raijin folks are trying to make
it almost a weekly release (4 times per month,
to be precise). We'll see...somehow, I have a
hard time seeing a magazine with a $240/year
subscription cost taking off.
