Yeah, I stopped playing FFXI about a month ago now. I was just getting too fed up with the 60+ game as it started to become just too much work and not enough fun. I've messed with COP a little bit at a friends and I was not impressed at all. I've beta tested EQ2 and WoW now with my highest characters in each at Lvl 20 in EQ and Lvl 21 in WoW. EQ2 just doesn't have the fun that WoW possesses to me so I decided I am going to play WoW as soon as it's released and plan to stick with it for quite some time. I'm still keeping and eye on Wish, Imperator, and Vanguard. I'm also trying to get my best friend and several former guildmates from Horizons and FFXI to at least give WoW a try next week in OB. I think the game is going to be huge. Too bad I'm still a bit indecisive on whether I wanna be Horde or Alliance. >_ Right now I've got a gnome mage on Beta 10 (note the rather generic names > oddly enough, in the forums the names come up as the old stress test names > in > most cases; my comments under my gnome mage don't show a server name, > though), and an undead warlock on Beta 8, but I'm not having nearly as > much > fun with them as I did my night elf warrior. Yeah, I had heard of that about the generic names. In ST I played on Malygos and I forget the closed beta name, but it was the PvP server. Starting areas are definitely a good consideration. I really liked the Human and Dwarf starting areas for alliance. Guess I'm different from you because I hated Teldrassil for the NE. It's just too much pseudo-celtic fruitness for me which was a reason I was anti Hibernia in DAoC. For the Horde I dislike the Undead starting area, but the Tauren, Orc, and Troll areas were all quite nice. The Orc/Troll area is quite simple, but flows very well. I've played every class at least to Lvl 10 so far and I've played all races. A Lvl 21 Human Rogue has been my highest character thus far. I did play a Dwarf Mage to Lvl 16 and he was awesome as well. The Rogue and Mage class are my favorites, but I want to test Druid and Shaman out a little bit more. > And on the odd chance you haven't heard - the game now has a server > selection > device the first time you log in. Actually dont think I had heard about that. I did know they were using servers based upon your area of the US/EU/Asia the same as we had in Diablo 2. I mostly played on USWest in D2 anyways since I play so late at night usually. I'm still annoyed that with my current gaming habits and work I'll probably never play in daytime on the game since they use the 24 hour clock. :-/ > If you haven't already, grab this year's Blizzard Halloween special (its > an mp3 audio file). > And the game introduction is in place now and looks very nice (iirc, it > was originally shown > at E3, albeit without sound). Yeah, I had the intro from awhile back, but you're right it's no sound and the resolution was quite poor. I do have a copy of it on my pc now with it in 1024x768 with sound and it is truly gorgeous. If you just DL the client you can still view the intro, but not play the game. Haha, I did grab the mp3 already. I think I actually snorted when it did the Ferris Bueller reference. ;_; -------------------------- Bear "replicant" Powell "Be resolute, fear no sacrifice and surmount every difficulty to win victory." - Chairman Mao Tse Tung ***Currently Playing*** Counter Strike: Source (PC - Steam Online) "I'm addicted and I suck at this game. >_
