Note to seiyuu ML readers:
A similar poll to this one is being posted to rec.arts.anime.info...
I will tally the votes up from that poll separately to this one (except
for the Hall of Fame category). Just ensure that if you wish to have
your entry counted as part of the seiyuu ML contingent, please use the
"[SEIYUU POLL]" tag in your subject line, NOT the "[POLL]" one.

The 1996 First Annual Seiyuu Awards
                  ===================================

This is a poll about seiyuu, ie. japanese voice actors.

Unless indicated otherwise, the categories refer to both male and
female seiyuu.

The "Hall of Fame" category (#30) is to determine the seiyuu who should
be entered into the Seiyuu Hall of Fame this year for their overall
work as a seiyuu. This category may include retired or deceased seiyuu.
For example, if Shimamoto Sumi should win a place in the Hall of Fame
this year, she will be inducted and be ineligible in future polls.

VOTING INSTRUCTIONS:
--------------------
This poll opens from the moment of its posting to the seiyuu Mailing
List and rec.arts.anime.info, and closes with the last email received
on Sunday, January 26th, 1997 (WST, GMT+8).

For each category, please indicate your two top choices, if possible.
The first choice will receive 2 points, the second 1 point. If you wish
to indicate two choices being equal, please include "(tie)" in that
category's vote. Tie votes will receive 1.5 points each.

Each valid vote received will cause a reply to be sent to the sender's
email address indicating that the vote has been received. Due to the
nature of the net, this reply may take in excess of 2-3 days to reach
the voter.

If possible, please:
        - try to restrict your answers to "1996"-related seiyuu performances
(except for category #30, please restrict your answers to
          living seiyuu)
        - try to email your votes in "Surname GivenName" order (to
          simplify sorting and counting)

For votes to be valid, they must:
        - be received by the above indicated deadline
        - be emailed to mstudte@wt.com.au
        - include the "[SEIYUU POLL]" tag in your subject line
        - have a valid return email address
        - be one vote per valid email address (no vote stacking allowed)
        - not have more than two seiyuu votes per category
        - be verifiable seiyuu (ie. be in Hitoshi Doi's seiyuu database)

The WILDCARD:
You may indicate one "wildcard" vote in any ONE category. For example,
if you think there is one REALLY goofy seiyuu, indicate your choice for
that seiyuu in that category by typing "wildcard" next to that entry.
That particular vote in that category will receive double-points. At
the end of the poll, two sets of results will be compiled, one with and
one without the wildcard votes. "Wildcard" votes may not be placed on
"tied" votes.

RESULTS:
--------
Results will be posted to rec.arts.anime.info and the seiyuu ML early
in February.
