That is the reason I avoid Akiba for the past few years.

Too many tourists make the hotel price go higher and higher in the
large cities.  Many business hotel chains' room charge in large cities
are double that of 10 or so years ago.

Hotel room availability is now very tight especially during holiday
season.  I was forced to get rooms outside Tokyo and Osaka in several
occasions.
