I am with you on that. Figure initially it was just people wanting
to make themselves stand out and then get a catchy nickname.

Yup, I consider them an OVA series as Shimada specified they were,
but because they have been getting theater releases they get
classified as a Movie also. In my personal collection and fan postings
we always use OVA.
