| A few more game related questions....
| Should I just spend my Friend Points as soon as I have enough to recruit
| someone, or is there a point in saving them and spending a bunch at once,
| kind of like how you save loveca to recruit 10+1 rather than buying them
| one at a time?

There is no bonus for saving them. Also they don't expire,
and I don't think there is a maximum.
So, you can use them any time you want.

When you get to the point where you have all of the current N,
then you can wait for the new N to appear (usually after events).

| Right now, I have a few Rs and the rest are Ns.
| Would it be better to idolize as many different Ns as I can,
| or should I concentrate on using the duplicates to help level
| the Rs and the Ns who are on teams?
| Or, of course, idolize first and spend the ones after that to level.

I think getting the Rs maxed so your scores go up is important.
The first 27 Ns are extremely easy to get, and you can get
them any time.

| It seems like you sometimes recruit (not sure if it was Friend Points or
| passing a Live) characters who are higher than level 1. If I've combined
| two level 1 Ns to make an Idolized N who is still level 1, and then I
| recruit a level 5 version of that same N, would it be better to just
| spend the level 5 version to improve the Idolized version?

Yes.
Since the Ns are common, you can probably just wait to
idolize them until you get one higher than level 1.
After each normal live, you get one N higher than level 1 depending
on your score, and one or two other Ns which are level 1.
So it's pretty easy to get a non-level 1 N.

| I started messing with the event today, and had a Normal mode song
| where I got a full combo but finished in last place, behind two people
| who hadn't gotten a combo, because I haven't gotten my team up high
| enough level yet.

Happens all the time.. but with me I always have combo around 50 or so,
and still end up ahead of those who have full combo. (^_^;
It all depends on who you match up against.

| Didn't realize until recently that when you pick from that list of
| people to assist you in a live, you're choosing from other real players.

Yes. After the live, you can ask them to be your "friend".
These friends are helpful during normal play and the normal events.

| Though I'm guessing my last Event live actually had PC players of some
| kind, since it waited for a while with only one more person joining in,
| and then suddenly added two people with names like 'Karaoke Student'
| so the match could start.

Just for the scorematch events, you might end up playing against
the computer if there aren't enough human opponents.
