| OK, so now I've started playing the English version of this game.
| I know there's a subreddit on Reddit about it, and I'll go read
| that sometime soon. But just one general question as I start out --
| is there anything I should make a point of doing or not doing
| early on that I might regret doing the wrong way later?

The only thing is probably not wasting the stones.
It's probably best to save 50 to do the 10+1 draw.
Is one SR guaranteed for the EN version?
In the JP version, at the beginning the SR wasn't guaranteed,
so a few times I just got 11 Rs.. (;_;)

Go for the event SRs.

| For example, I'm not going to casually spend any of the little heart
| currency, because I know those are hard to come by and they seem to
| be important for doing 10+1 recruits of students.
| But should I immediately idolize an N ranked character when I can,
| or should I be trying to level them before doing that?

The level and kizuna of the base card will remain,
the stats of the second card will get tossed.
So you don't have to level up the second card.

| I'm assuming I should hang onto one of each card so long as I have
| storage space to do so.

Not necessary.
Use the level 40 N as food for a new N so it levels up quickly.

| Still at the point where I can't spend a significant fraction of my
| LP without leveling and refreshing the bar to maximum.
| That probably won't be an issue for long, and then I'll just be
| grumpy about not being able to play much. :)

You'll have to wake up in the middle of the night when the LP
gets full to drain it.. (^_^;;
