| The anime is heavily relying on dialogue to drive the story/plot.
| More a book fiction series than an anime.
|
|I watched a few episodes here and there on TV
|but it's too weird and scary for me.

Gave the show a chance and got quite drawn into it.
I watched Bakemonogatari, Nisemonogatari, and
Nekomonogatari which makes me look forward to
Monogatari S2 starting next month. It was quite a
tough watch in places with the sheer amount of
dialogue and hidden text, but I really did enjoy the
characters and story. In a few places it was very
dark compared to how I prefer my anime, but I did
find myself laughing out loud quite a bit.

I can definitely see why there is such a Love/Hate
relationship among fans of the show. The artwork
runs the gamut from minimalist to God-Tier, music
I felt was great for the atmosphere, and the story
has a borderline manic approach between serious
and ridiculous.

The sieyuu cast I felt was phenomenal. Chiwa Saito
I did not recognize at all, but she does a rather
chilling performance (sometimes sweet) as Hitagi.
Emiri Kato is adorable as Hachikuji. Miyuki Sawashiro
as Kanbaru is plain sexy without a doubt. Kana
Hanazawa is brilliant as Sengoku, but I am unsure if
she can possibly do any part poorly. ^^; Yui Horie
as Hanekawa is just smooth as always and when she
is voicing Black Hanekawa it's just a nosebleed
waiting to happen. Eri Kitamura does very well as
Karen who is such a dangerous character on many
levels. Yuka Iguchi as Tsukihi surprised me with
the uniqueness of the voice and character. Maaya
Sakamoto as Shinobu is another voice that just
pulls you in and never wants to let you go.

I think the wordplay in the series between characters
is what I find the most enjoyable. When Koyomi
encounters Hachikuji it is almost always a fun time
for me. The banter between Hitagi and Koyomi can
be a pain at times keep up with, but it is always a
trip to follow. I'd say the relationship between
Shinobu and Koyomi is the one I enjoy the most
because it has the most depth to it. And his
relationships with Kanbaru, Black hanezawa, and
Karen drive my imagination over the edge.

For a show I did not expect to like it made a solid
impression on me.

|Oh, there is a ufo catcher doll of Kobato's rabbit!

That sounds quite awesome. I recently saw some
of the new figures for Strike Witches and Date A Live
coming out soon and they are incredibly cool. The
new Nendoroids for Hayate no Gotoku, Yuru Yuri,
Strike Witches, and Haganai are pretty awesome.
