| I'm curious; how exactly is your database stored? Do you use a
| commercial database application? Or is it more of the home-brew,
| moonshine variety?
The database format specs are at
http://www.usagi.org/doi/seiyuu/db-format.html
Basically it's a text database, with various perl scripts to
format the data to generate my web pages (both static and dynamic).
As the database grew, it started taking a couple hours to
do my seiyuu tree build on my old Sparcstation 20.
I thought about going to indexed files..
But now that I use a Celeron 1.3 running Linux, the same
build (with more entries and more seiyuu pages) takes only
a few minutes.
So I will stay with a text database, because I like to be
able to edit everything by hand (using vi).
