Hi hi,

I was watching Terrestrial Defense Force Mao-chan
the other day (really cute show, BTW ^_^ ) and
there was this girl, Silvie, who used "honkan" to
refer to herself. It's the first time I hear such
a word used instead of "atashi" (or "boku", or
whatever). In fact, her normal patterns of speech
are a bit special too - not quite Tokyo Japanese.
Maybe it's some regional dialect? I was wondering
if someone here would know where this "honkan"
thing comes from... I'm just being curious... ^_^

Ja ja,

  "Kono hon ni ha,
   Hajimari ha aru ga,
   Owari ha nai."
(A haiku dedicated to a book named "Pi",
           in Seraphim Call episode 7)
