If I was going to get a small digital camera, the G2 would be the
one I would get.  (or a used G1, depending on price)

I can't justify spending another $3000 unless I know I
will take enough pictures to make up for that.
I would need to take 10000 pictures.

If Kasumi stayed with Cutie Pai, I can easily take 10000 pics/year.
(Since most of the Cutie Pai events allow pictures.)
But now that her future is uncertain, I can't count on that many pics.
