I don't know if many people are interested, but.. (^_^;

It's been around a half year since the breakup of Kira Kira Melody Gakuen.
I was feeling pretty sad at the breakup, thinking I would be bored and
have a lot of free time. But many of the girls are appearing in events,
a lot more than I had imagined. Also there are even new "groups" formed
by the former Kira Melo girls.

The major post Kira Melo groups and solo performers are as follows.

- LaLaLu (Hinano Mayo, Sakurai Sara, Miyanishi Noa, Ohtsuka Mae,
Kimura Ikue, Shintani Sayaka, Minano Fuuko, Itou Asuka, Aina)

LaLaLu is basically the followup to Kira Melo. They got all the
top free agents to form the all star team. They are backed by
music companies, and have the same song writer as Kira Melo.
If LaLaLu had Tsuchiya Mieko, they would be Kira Melo, but's it's
very close already.

They have looks, talent, and have the biggest fan base.
But they still can't get over 100 people for their event.
It doesn't seem like they are trying to expand the fan base to
non-former Kira Melo fans. They should. They are planning to
release a CD this fall too.

There is a LaLaLu fan club, which is a net-only fan club. You get
access to a special member only web page with downloadable data files.

Most of the LaLaLu girls are doing other jobs solo too.
Noa is doing lots of idol-ish work, Ikue is doing seiyuu work,
and Mae is doing actress work.

- Cutie Pai (Kanzaki Mayumi, Makiguchi Yoko, Nagai Kasumi)

Cutie Pai is a cosplay idol group, made up of three former second
class girls. They used to have Aina too, but she got taken away by
LaLaLu. Aina is one of the best, if not the best, singer among the
former Kira Melo girls. But Mayu (Mayumi) and Makky (Yoko) have
released CDs, and they are among the top singers in Kira Melo too.
Miyuu (Kasumi) probably doesn't have much experience singing, but
she's not bad.

Cutie Pai is the home grown low budget team with great teamwork.
Makky makes their outfits, which are usually the kind that cosplay
fans go crazy over, such as nurse, waitress, maid, etc..
Mayu writes most of their songs, and Miyuu thinks up their dances
and movements. Miyuu wrote one song.

It seems they pick up a few fans at every event, but they still only
draw about 50 people. I enjoy the Cutie Pai events the most, as most
of them allow pictures/videos. (^_^;

There is a Cutie Pai fan club, and they send out a newsletter each
month.

Yoko is also doing a lot of solo work too.

- Metafo (Mito Yoko, Endou Satoko, Takase Noriko, Akami Yukie,
  Furuuchi Rika, Ogura Maiko)

Metafo is another low budget team. I've only gone to one of their
events (where Cutie Pai was also a guest), so I don't know much about
their fan base. But I guess it is pretty small.
I don't think they are anywhere near LaLaLu or Cutie Pai.

- Tsuchiya Mieko

Mieko was the number one girl in Kira Melo, and still may be the
most popular individual. But she still only has around 50 or fewer
hard-core fans (ones that will choose her over any other).

Currently taking a break because of sickness. No idea what that
sickness is. She might be back in November though.

I don't know what Mieko wants to do. She is doing idol type work,
and seiyuu type work. She is trying to do everything, and maybe
that caused her to burn out so quickly.

- Asano Masumi

Masumi is currently closest to a "real" seiyuu. She has a couple
regular roles in TV anime, and appears in events from time to time.

Don't know much about her fan base.

- Kuwakado Sora

Sora has started to appear regularly in idol song events.
I saw her (on stage) for the first time (since the breakup of
Kira Melo) this week. I was surprised at how well she sings.
I was expecting her to be in the bottom half, but she's in the
top half (but the bottom half among the top half).

I don't know what other work she is doing now.

- Misaki Mami

I think she wants to be a seiyuu, but she has been appearing in
anime song (and other otaku song) events as a singer.
They have these events every month, or every other month.
I think you would get to her quicker if you started counting from
the bottom of the list (in terms of Kira Melo girl singing ability).
