On top is easier than in front.  ^_^;

After she wins the comic beauty, she is still not very strong.  
E.g. in the final confrontation with the aliens, she still lost
     her race in the begining and utilize the Akari House Mark III, 
     and cried.

OTOH, after gaining full "pilot-ship" of the Gunbuster, Noriko did 
not have any break down like that.  (not 100% sure, since I watched
Top o nerae! many years ago).
