I prefer PhotoCD myself.  I watched a negative scanner munch a friend's
negative strip, and if a slide gets toasted, then you've lost everything.

In America, APS hasn't gone anywhere.  My local PhotoCD processor won't
handle APS and he doesn't know anyone else who does.  Despite the bells
and whistles of APS, 35mm and 4x5 are what the professionals use....
