Akihabara is not the only home of a walker's paradise. The one in Ginza on Sunday is even more famous, and parts of Tokyo have them every weekday around lunchtime. Seems that they would have to stop all of them, or the next random killer would just choose a different set of sitting ducks. I would prefer that police beef up their presence than get rid of something that makes things more convenient for consumers and increases sales for businesses. - Joe
