Yeah, in contrast to Japan's unfortunate teaching of English in their schools, German schools teach English quite well, so just about all Germans can speak English. If I could have gone, I think this would have been a really interesting event for me. I have some degree of capacity in both German and Japanese, so it would have been a great practice experience. That, plus meeting all the guests and doing the convention thing. Sebastien, would you believe, whenever I try to speak French, it comes out with a German accent? :) My mother majored in French (hence my name) in Taiwan, but I don't know it.
