I think it really depends on WHAT you are purchasing.   If it is DVD or 
manga,
there are better places.  For a character item, is it from Japan or America?
There are many online stores, especially ones that are niche specialists.  
Rob's
Anime Corner and Animecastle are well known online stores, because they
have been around for over 5 years.   If you can let us know publicly or
