Yes, in the Anipike's most recent 'Last Exit' article, it's put forward in
a respondent's letter that Ranma fanfiction has developed a life of its own
now, independent of the actual series whose salad days are probably long past.
I'll have to admit that I stopped reading fanfiction about a year or so
ago, except for periodic checks to see if the authors had finished the one
or two sagas that were incomplete at the time I stopped.
There's probably more Ranma activity on the newsgroups, but there's nothing
really new in them- just the same "who's the better fighter" and "what if?"
questions that were old back in the mid-90s.
