basically, that's true... it looses so much there... I think the appeal to
violent anime girls, has something to do with the fact that one, they usually
have more personality to them. (you see more emotion involved with the
character, the insecurities, and the potential (even when being violent) to
be so much more than they show themselves to be.) And two, the tendency is
that they wind up loving the main character more genuinely than the rivals
(whichever anime it may be.) This is just my take IMHO though, and yes, I
feel the same applies to Akane in the manga as well. The anime, you see the
potential, in both Ranma and Love Hina, the manga, you see the development,
which is why I like both Akane and Naru as far as characters go, a little
bitchy, but also an immaturity that as time progesses, the shrew in them gets
tamed, so to speak.
Although Motoko from LH, is still my fav. girl from that series.
